Email address being retreived without my  permission
I have Trend Micro security in which you can specify specific strings that the software should block from being sent. I set up my email address and then found that many web sites are retrieving it without my knowledge. From where are they retrieving my email address? If I knew this, I could might be able to replace it with a junk account. I am using Firefox, Thunderbird, Win 7.

Hi, I do not understand what kind of issue you encounter, please clarify it. I assume that you might often receive junk emails. So you doubt that there is something to do with the Website, but I would like to advise you they are two unrelated things. There are too many Email address scanner on the Internet to collect address for sending advantage or junk, so this is why you often receive them. Do not worry about that, use your Email filter to filtrate them. If you still receive them, just create a rule, this behavior can prevent you receive similar email. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Let me rephrase my question. Trend Micro can warn you when a web site is attempting to retrieve your email address (or any string you specify) usually without your knowledge . As a result, I now know that many web sites are attempting this. Trend Micro gives you the choice of either temporarily disabling the block for 30 minutes or maintaining the block. If I choose to block, I cannot view the page I am trying to reach. If I knew from where web sites are obtaining my email address on my machine, I could change it to a junk email address and so give them bad information and not my real email address.

Hi itredler1, its a combination of your cached/stored records of your web-based mail inputs and its cookies from your web browser. better use this http://reclassify.wrs.trendmicro.com/ to evaluate a website who attempts to do so and if the feedback does look suspicious then you can choose to block them so you wont have to go through it all the time. ok, since I said, I do not want to block them but want access without my email address being retrieved, you are implying I cannot achieve this.

It can be achieved if you use a tool or delete manually all your cached information - cookies, sites, stored info, MRU (Most recently used ) from your browser every minute of the day. MVP Windows Security
